‘FLYTRAP TOWN’ RECEIVES LARGEST DONATION YET

‘Flytrap Town’ has received a very generous $30,000 donation from a private supporter - the largest single donation to the film so far. The donation was made via the project’s fiscal sponsor, Southern Conservation Partners.

The contribution comes at an important stage for the project, as we move into the early stages of editing and continue preparing the film for the next phase of production and post-production.

Over the past few months, we have begun reviewing and organising the footage shot so far - around 7 terabytes in total. We have also welcomed edit assistant Pip Brown to the team, who is helping prepare the material for the edit.

Alongside this work, we have been filming additional macro footage of Venus flytraps in Robert’s home studio in the UK, capturing the plant in close detail - from the tiny trigger hairs to the movement of the traps themselves.

The project has also received a letter of support from PBS North Carolina, who have expressed interest in the film. We hope to return to North Carolina later in the year for further filming, with the early edit process helping us identify the specific pickups still needed.

We are very grateful to everyone who has supported Flytrap Town so far. This latest donation makes a significant difference and helps keep the film moving forward.
